Jimmie Groendyke died at his home Thursday night April 9, after an intense suffering of sevearl months. But at last the angels bore him to his home in heaven. Brother Trotter preached the funeral; interment at Oak Hill. A precious one from us has gone. A voice we loved is still; a place is vacant in our home which never can be filled. -- kbz

James C. Groendyke, aged 28 years, died on April 9 of tumor of the brain, at his home north of the city.
The funeral occurred Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Mr. Groendyke was a son-in-law of Alvin Breaks and a son of the late Thomas Groendyke. He was a highly respected young man and a member of the Christian Church.
